State and National Mock Trial

07-08 - LOGOS TAKES 12th IN ‘07 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION!

06-07 - Both of our Mock Trial teams qualified for the State competition. The A team took 1st place, and will attend nationals in May!

05-06 - Both of our Mock Trial teams qualified for the State competition. The A team took 1st place at State and traveled to Oklahoma to participate in Nationals. At Nationals, Logos took 9th place losing only to Iowa who won 1st place. This is the best we have placed at Nationals!

04-05 - The “B” team finished 1st and the “A” team finished 2nd at regionals. Both teams finished with 9-0 records (ballots). Luke Nieuwsma, Danny Ryan, and Lexie Lundgren received Outstanding Attorney awards. Outstanding witnesses were Jeremiah Grauke, Cecilia Hui, Laurel McGarry, and Scott Hieronymus. Idaho State Mock Trial competition: The A team won the Idaho State Mock Trial Championship. The B team finished second. Outstanding attorneys were Danny Ryan and Samuel Dickison. Outstanding witnesses were Ryan Barrie, Victoria Trochez, and Cecilia Hui. (Cecilia received both attorney and witness awards.) National Mock Trial competition in Charlotte, North Carolina: The Logos team finished 11th in the nation, the best finish (to date) ever for an Idaho team at nationals! The team defeated Rhode Island, Arkansas, and New Mexico before losing to California in the fourth round. (California won the national competition.) Outstanding attorney awards went to Kathryn Garfield and Luke Nieuwsma. Outstanding witness awards went to Scott Hieronymus and Kathryn Garfield.

03-04 - The B team placed 1st and the A team placed 2nd at the regional competition. . Kathryn Garfield, Nicole Barrie, Luke Nieuwsma were named outstanding attorneys. Patrick Just and Katie Keyes were named outstanding witnesses. Idaho State Mock Trial competition: The B team finished 1st and the A team placed 4th. Scott Hieronymus was named an outstanding attorney and Jeremiah Grauke was named an outstanding witness. National Mock Trial competition in Orlando, Florida: The B team finished 36th.

Testing

  • 05-06 - 83 percent of Logos secondary students scored in the highest quartile on the national achievement testing this year. This is the highest overall score our students have attained since we switched to the Comprehensive Testing Program tests (CTP-4 test) a few years ago and represents a very significant achievement by our students.
    • In addition, 73% of our elementary students scored in the 76-99 percentile of the Stanford Achievement Test. The average score in the elementary was 85 percent as compared to the national average of 50 percent.
  • 03-04 - Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Two Logos seniors earned a perfect score of 800 on the verbal portion of the SAT. Another senior earned a perfect score on the math portion of the SAT. In our history, nine Logos students have earned a perfect verbal score. Two Logos students have earned a perfect math score.
